Aerial Foundations Course
Aerial Foundations: Level 1
Each week we will rotate through different apparatus:
Week 1- Silks
Week 2- Lyra
Week 3-Hammock
Week 4- Trapeze
*If there is a 5th week in a month, it will be taught as a combination, a multi-apparatus class.
Course Overview: Dive into the world of aerial arts with Aerial Foundations, designed for beginners ready to explore various aerial apparatuses.
This foundational course offers a unique opportunity to experience the basics of silks, hoop (Lyra), trapeze, and hammock, all in a supportive and structured environment.
Emphasizing safety, technique, and fun, this class is perfect for those curious about aerial arts and looking to build a broad skill set from the ground up.
Age Requirement: 16+
Youth Aerial Foundations is available 9:30am Saturdays for students age 8-15.
What You Will Learn:
Introduction to Apparatuses: Get acquainted with different aerial equipment, learning the unique techniques and safety considerations for each.
Basic Aerial Skills: Develop fundamental aerial skills, including climbs, basic inversions, and simple poses across various apparatuses.
Strength and Flexibility: Engage in exercises designed to build the core and upper body strength essential for aerial work, along with flexibility training.
Coordination and Body Awareness: Enhance your spatial awareness and coordination, crucial for moving confidently and gracefully in the air.
Aerial Etiquette and Safety: Understand the importance of studio etiquette, rigging basics, and personal safety while practicing aerial arts.
Class Structure: Each session begins with a warm-up focused on overall conditioning and aerial preparation. Students will then rotate through different apparatuses, spending time learning and practicing basic techniques on each one. The class concludes with a cool-down and discussion of progress and safety.
Prerequisites:
No prior aerial experience required; this course is designed for complete beginners.
A readiness to learn and explore in a group setting.
Safety First: Our classes maintains strict safety standards, including the use of crash mats and close instructor supervision. Our experienced instructors ensure a safe, encouraging, and educational experience for all students.
What to Bring:
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that covers the legs and arms.
Water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the class.
Long hair should be tied back, and jewelry removed before class begins.
